What’s wrong with this? Psychology Today terminated Mercer’s blogging contract as some of Mercer’s content had been identified as being defamatory and constituting unwarranted attacks on licensed mental health professionals (Mercer is not licensed and never has been).

Mercer continues to blog, using a free blogging platform.

Monica Pignotti is either in denial about what happened to Mercer or she is just sloppy. Either way, not a good way to enter a new year.

A court of law put an end to this, and handed Miller a stiff punishment.

It is also worth noting that neither Sarner nor Rosa has signed Pignotti’s self-serving “statement of support”-is this because they are unwanted (possibly due to their questionable backgrounds and lack of Ph.D.s) or have they seen that Pignotti’s “Internet obsession” is not good for whatever fringe cause they espouse?

Pignotti prided herself on her affiliation with this group. She also went to great lengths to defend other participants in the group from attacks. Most notably, Pignotti went so far as to assert that the voting machines designed by Larry Sarner actually worked. Pignotti and Sarner are probably the only people who believe this.

Now we get to the 2011 version of the CV…and the “advocacy group” is conspicuous by its absence, leaving a great void that draws attention to itself and begs many questions…questions that demand serious, well reasoned answers…

Is this evidence based practice?

Is this representative of Monica Pignotti’s self-touted critical thinking skills?

It really does seem that Dr. Pignotti is waging a hate campaign to further her own career as a critic.

She stated that if she could go back in time, she would eradicate the Internet.

Not satisfied to sit around and fantasize, she’s actually tried, without success, to manipulate time.

Take a look at this blog she has. It would seem she wrote Part 2 before she wrote Part 1.

That’s NOT what happened. She wrote Part 1, copied it, deleted it, edited it, then reposted it with new content.

Monica Pignotti should learn to channel her inner Dalek.

First of all, it shows that Pignotti was not just a practitioner of Thought Field Therapy, but that she also taught it. Also, it is clear that her involvement with Thought Field Therapy went back as far as 1997-maybe more, as it is not known how long it takes to learn Thought Field Therapy well enough to teach it!

Next, consider her media appearances. Since 1989, Pignotti has been discussing cults.

This  is not at all surprising, she’s been a long term member of two: Scientology and Thought Field Therapy.

Even though Pignotti does not appear to have held a leadership position in Scientology, she did advance to at least the level of “OT3″ which is one of Scientology’s highest “spiritual” levels. In this level, Scientologists are taught that humanity’s problems stem from the misdeeds of the galactic tyrant Xenu.

Most people laugh when they hear this. Pignotti did not.

Now, Pignotti is involved with a fringe advocacy group. The leader of the group, Larry Sarner, defauded lenders and investors with non-working voting machines. Under oath, Sarner’s associate, Jean Mercer, described him not as an inventor, but as a legislative aide. No  information, however, as to which legislator he worked for or when he did this has been forthcoming.

Pignotti has asserted that she did not do certain things in conjunction with this email. Moreover, she has also asserted she can PROVE she did not do these things.

It is astonishing that Pignotti, a self-described devoteé of James Randi and Penn & Teller, would say such a thing. Proving a negative?

None other than James Randi discusses proving a negative here. He also has a few interesting things about debunking, a practice Monica Pignotti seems to be very fond of.

For whatever reason, Monica Pignotti finds the works of Charles Sanders Peirce to be anathema. Fine. She should, however, take the time to see what others say about various fallacious positions she advocates.

Her affiliation with Larry Sarner has not helped. Sarner borrowed money to develop voting machines, and did not pay it back. Sarner solicited and obtained substantial amounts of investment money for the same voting machine project. The investors lost their money. Sarner ended up bitter and destitute.

Charly D. Miller was fired, for whatever reasons, from paramedic and ambulance driver positions. She is entangled in several defamation lawsuits. For unknown reasons, Monica Pignotti has emerged as one of Miller’s staunch supporters.

The WordPress “tag” page on Monica shows an ad for a free eBook on tapping therapy. For years, Monica Pignotti was a proponent and practitioner of tapping therapy, having studied under Roger Callahan (the inventor of Thought Field Therapy and its more advanced sibling, Voice Technology, which professes to facilitate diagnosis over the phone) and practiced with Mark Steinberg.

Google’s “context sensitive” ad placement mechanism has picked up on this. When Monica Pignotti’s name appears, so too do ads on tapping therapy, instead of topics such as criticial thinking, social work, James Randi or Penn & Teller.

Google has Monica Pignotti’s number, and it is tapping therapy.
